CINEMATOGRAPHY

ROSES R
RED

This spec ad for Manchester United's 2024/25 home kit is one of my personal favourite projects I've worked on as Cinematographer and Camera Operator in the past couple of years - we used the Canon R5C for added mobility with the football scenes, while using primarily Canon C500s for the black-and-white sequence in the first half of the ad. We planned all of the transitions extensively in pre-production so that everyone could show up on set knowing what needed to be done and it meant we could rattle through set-ups very quickly. Furthermore, we shot the football sequences in a freewheeling, spontaneous fashion that I can take forwards through future work as a Videographer as well.

Nostalgia Trilogy

My first foray into experimental film, this is another project I'm extremely proud to say I worked on as Director of Photography and Camera Operator. Each film is meant to represent and evoke a different type of nostalgia, and we used different aspect ratios, lens filters and types of cameras to achieve each effect.

Til I Find You by Yana Taye

This music video is one I worked on around March 2024, and is a project that I believe demonstrates my ability to create visually stunning images. As cinematographer, I elected to shoot the more cinematic performative scenes on a Black Magic Ursa 4.6k cinema camera, whereas the outdoor on location footage was shot with a Canon R7 DSLR camera for increased mobility and to allow us to use a gimbal.

A MIME'S WILL

I worked as cinematographer (and occasional camera operator) on this narrative short film in March 2025. I shot it in 4k on the C500 MK2 using full frame wherever we could to really make the most of that crisp, shallow depth of field, and tried to add as much contrast as possible with the lighting for the interior scenes between the protagonist and her brother to really add to the tension between their conflicting attitudes to her career choice as a mime.

Amble Garb Co.

A spec fashion film I worked on as cinematographer and camera operator in early 2024. This was a fairly run-and-gun shoot, and the film was entirely shot on a gimbal.

'Small Potatoes' by The Meranos

Early 2024 was a busy period for me, as I also shot this music video (working as Cinematographer and Camera Operator) for upcoming band The Meranos. Taking heavy inspiration from Beastie Boys' 'Sabotage', I shot the more run-and-gun style narrative segments on a Canon R7 DSLR while the performance sections were shot on a Canon C500 MK2 cinema camera, in order to emulate music videos such as Queens of the Stone Age's 'Little Sister', where the focus is on portraying the band's rehearsal/performance footage in the most impressive way as possible.

'Smash My F***ing Head In' by Mutilated
Cauliflower

This music video, which I shot in February 2025, is one of the projects I'm most proud to have worked on as Director of Photography and Camera Operator. While many of the effects were added in post and weren't down to my contribution, I worked closely with my gaffer to plan dynamic and visually interesting lighting setups, such as the one visible in the thumbnail which was used to capture the whole band's live performance of the song, and the silhouette shots which appear prominently throughout the rest of the video.
